Ta mesec nas bo Toni Čepon, predsednik Bitcoin društva Slovenije, popeljal v Kenijo — afriško državo, kjer bitcoin ni eksotična novost, temveč vsakdanje orodje preživetja. Zaradi visoke inflacije in oteženega dostopa do bank se tamkajšnje skupnosti bitcoina poslužujejo bistveno bolj kot smo navajeni v Evropi ali Ameriki — lokalne skupnosti ga že sprejemajo kot plačilno metodo.

Toni je pred leti spoznal Kyla Huberja, ki je ta mesec premierno predstavil kratki dokumentarec The Education Revolution Changing Africa — film o Keniji, njenih bitcoinerjih in vsem, kar se tam dogaja. Ker imata dobre stike, je Toni pridobil tudi informacije, ki v dokumentarec niso bile vključene... in morda jih bo razkril prav na našem srečanju. 👀

Predavanje je namenjeno vsem, ne glede na predznanje. Vstopnine ni, vendar se prosimo prijavite, saj je število mest omejeno!

This month, Toni Čepon, president of the Bitcoin Association Slovenia, will take us to Kenya — an African country where bitcoin isn't an exotic novelty, but an everyday tool. Due to high inflation and limited access to banking, local communities there rely on bitcoin far more than we're used to seeing in Europe or America, with some already accepting it as a method of payment.

A few years ago, Toni met Kyle Huber, who this month premiered his short documentary The Education Revolution Changing Africa — a film about Kenya, its bitcoiners, and everything happening on the ground. Since the two have stayed in touch, Toni has gathered insights that didn't make it into the documentary... and he might just share some of them at our meetup. 👀

The talk is open to everyone, regardless of prior knowledge. There is no entry fee, but please register as seating is limited!
