A beginner-friendly golf experience designed for high-quality networking, relaxed competition, and island atmosphere. The tournament is on morning of September 3 — the morning the Free Cities Conference opens. The evening before, we host a reception at Pete's Place that's open to everyone, golfer or not.

This is a business networking event that happens to be played on a golf course. Founders, builders, investors, locals and visiting golfers, in a structured but open format. The focus is simple: great people, great conversations, and a fun, fast-paced scramble that works for all skill levels.

🗓️ Sep 2 — Sunset Reception & Team Formation
📍 Pete's Place, Pristine Bay · from 5:00 PM

Open to everyone. Free entry, no ticket needed
Business networking with founders, conference attendees and local golfers
Billiards, cold beer, buffet, sunset over Pristine Bay around 6:30
Team formation for the tournament, organized by the hosts to ensure balanced, mixed-skill teams
Sign up for Thursday on the spot
Informal, relaxed atmosphere focused on introductions and connections

📍 Black Pearl Golf Course · 8:00 AM shotgun start

Check-in from 7:15 AM at Pete's Place — teams and carts assigned there
9-hole 4-person scramble (beginner-friendly, fast-paced, social)
The course is closed to the public for us
On-course side contests and extras
Wraps up by 11:00, in time for the DUNA launch at noon
🏆 Awards presented on the Free Cities main stage that evening
Structured networking through mixed, assigned teams

⛳ Format & Experience

4-person scramble: a relaxed team format where all four players hit each shot, the team picks the best one, and everyone plays from there. No pressure on any single player — a beginner's bad shot never counts, so it's genuinely fun for all levels.

9 holes — short, social, and easy for first-timers
Beginner-friendly — no prior experience required
Teams assigned by organizers to maximize networking and balance skill levels
You'll tell us your skill level when you register
Side games and contests for both beginners and advanced players
Open to conference attendees, locals, and visiting golfers

💰 Participation

Entry fee: $150 per person (bitcoin accepted at the day's rate)

Includes:

Green fee and golf cart
Clubs and balls — travel with nothing
Sep 2 reception: buffet and one drink
Coffee at check-in
On-course contests
Taxes

Not included: grab-and-go breakfast ($8–12), extra drinks.

Not playing? Come Wednesday anyway. Free entry, $30 if you want the buffet.
