August has not been a quiet month.
In the span of two weeks, Bitcoin gave us a masterclass in two of its oldest lessons: "don't trust; verify", and "consensus decides".
First came the Coldcard entropy disclosure — a five-year-old firmware flaw that quietly gutted seed randomness on affected devices, and the wave of thefts that followed. We'd love to hear your personal stories about how this event has affected you, your friends, or your family.
Then came BIP-110's activation attempt, which split off a minority chain, produced two blocks, and promptly went quiet. Whatever you thought of the proposal itself, the outcome was clarifying. We'd like to hear your thoughts about the outcome and the future plans for lukedashjr's hard-forking PoW change.
We'll open the floor to all of it — concerns, questions, hot takes to go along with cold drinks (provided). Bring whatever's been rattling around in your head since our last "seminar" format event.
We'll also give a progress report on our 2026 Square merchant on-boarding effort: our beautiful map is blooming orange with places you can spend bitcoin!
