Freedom Tech DC 2026 takes place September 22–23, 2026 in Washington, DC. Hosted by the Bitcoin Policy Institute, this curated summit brings policymakers, technologists, investors, and researchers together to confront the future of money, speech, and intelligence—and the fight to keep them free.
For most of the last century, national power was measured in steel, oil, and warheads. Today it runs on three technologies: money that moves without asking permission, speech that travels without censorship or backdoors, and compute that determines who builds the most capable systems and on whose terms. Freedom Tech DC examines how the United States writes the rules for these systems so America keeps its advantage instead of surrendering it to surveillance, capture, or rival control.
The program spans two full days plus an optional morning on the Hill. Day 1 (September 22) establishes the stakes at the National Press Club. That evening, PubKey DC hosts the inaugural DC Beefsteak. Day 2 (September 23) moves to hands-on policy work at PubKey DC, followed by a closing party. Attendees who request full access can join a Day on the Hill at the U.S. Capitol on the morning of September 24.
Tickets are not sold publicly. BPI is keeping the room deliberately smaller and more focused than prior years; full-access invitations are allocated by request. Apply at btcpolicy.org/summit.
