About Event

Hands-On Bitcoin Multisig Workshop
Join us for an in-person workshop where we’ll build a Single user 2-of-3 multi-vendor multi-sig wallet together, from start to finish.
As attacks become increasingly sophisticated, self-custody must remain a viable option. The ability to hold and control our own bitcoin is what keeps Bitcoin in the hands of the people. Without that, Bitcoin loses a fundamental part of its purpose.
One approach to securing your bitcoin is a multi-vendor multi-sig wallet. This strategy spreads trust across different signing devices and firmware implementations, reducing reliance on any single device or manufacturer. In a 2-of-3 setup, any two of three signing keys are required to approve a transaction.
What you’ll learn
A step-by-step multisig setup worksheet will be provided to guide you through the process and help you avoid common pitfalls.
What to bring
Bring a phone with Nunchuk installed, or a laptop with Sparrow Wallet installed, to use as your wallet coordinator.
You’ll also need two additional signing devices that support multisig. Options include SeedSigner devices and hardware wallets such as BitBox, Jade, or Coldcard. If you have no solid evidence that your hardware wallet might be compromised, you can still use it as a part of a multi-sig setup. There's no need to blast it with a shotgun.
Please check that your signing devices work with your chosen coordinating software. At least one signing device in your setup should support registering the multisig wallet descriptor.
If you have spare signing devices available for demonstration and practice, please bring them so participants with fewer devices can take part. We will provide testnet bitcoin for you to do test-signing of your multi-sig wallet.
