Bitcoin Amsterdam 2026 wraps up on Friday 6 November, but the conversation doesn't have to end when the doors of the Sugar Factory close. On Saturday 7 November we're lacing up for a BitcoinWalk in Houtrak, the green heart of the Spaarnwoude recreation area, just across from the conference venue in Halfweg. No stages, no slides, no expo floor — just a couple of hours of fresh air, open water and the kind of unhurried conversation that only happens when you're walking side by side.
We'll meet by the entrance to the Sugar Factory at 9:45am and we go for a 2h walk in one of the most peaceful corners of the region. Houtrak is a water-rich nature reserve of ponds, riverbanks, lawns and tree-lined paths, laid out by landscape architect Jacoba Mulder and framed by the polder landscape that gave this area its shape. It's a place that rewards a slow pace: herons and other waterbirds along the banks, autumn colour in the shrubs, and wide Dutch skies overhead. For anyone who has spent two days indoors, it's a welcome reset.
The format is deliberately simple. We walk together at a relaxed, conversational pace, with plenty of stopping points for photos, coffee from a flask and the spontaneous small-group debates that make Bitcoin meetups memorable. Whether you want to dig into self-custody, mining economics, Lightning UX or the future of European regulation — or just talk about anything other than Bitcoin for an hour — you'll find a walking companion who will hear you out. Bring a friend, bring your local meetup crew, or come alone; walks like this are the easiest place in the world to make new ones.
Practicalities are easy: wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate layers, bring water and something to share, and expect roughly two hours on easy, flat paths suitable for all fitness levels. The walk is free and open to everyone — conference badge not required so bring a friend. Come for the BitcoinWalk, stay for the after-walk drinks and when you return home - reflect on Bitcoin Amsterdam 2026 and start your own BitcoinWalk.
